At the beginning of the war, Bucha was under Russian Occupation for 33 days. During this time, what is now known as the Bucha Massacre took place where Russian forces mass murdered Ukrainian Civilians and Prisoners of War. In addition to the brutalities of war, many schools were also destroyed in Bucha. When Ukraine was able to take back this territory they began re-building.
The Bucha School is attempting to create both a school opportunity and a community opportunity. One of their projects that is currently underway is called their forest classroom. The project aims to create a sustainable outdoor classroom in the Bucha municipality forest, providing a unique space for mental well-being, learning and environmental education. We are trying to help them with some electronics to use for these science labs. We are collecting and purchasing some laptops to be used by the students when working on these labs. We are also helping with general school and lab supplies to support this learning environment, as a place where these children can re-build their lives through education and growth.
